What is a Coupon Code?
Coupon Codes are complex barcodes that allow greater flexibility for marketing your products, tracking the results of your coupon campaigns, and preventing fraud.

How are Barcodes for Coupons different?
Coupon barcodes allow for more sophisticated marketing campaigns. Today’s barcodes for coupons consist of two parts:

The left portion of the coupon barcode, scanned by retailers who cannot yet read the right portion, encodes information relating the coupon back to your item, your family code, and the value of the coupon.
The right portion of your coupon barcode, referred to as a GS1 Databar, represents a recent upgrade to coupon code technology. The GS1 Databar encodes a lot of information in a small space and represents the part of the coupon bar code where we can encode the most details of your promotion.

In this GS1 Databar portion of your barcodes for coupons, we can encode many rules such as:

Very specific purchase requirements (such as buy 2 get 1 free OR buy a specific item and get a discount on a different item purchased at the same time)
Value of the coupon (such as $0.15 off)
Whether you give the retailer permission to double the coupon
Exact start of your coupon
Exact expiration date

Do I really need a Coupon Code?
Coupon Codes are the common method by which your retailer accepts and tracks coupons.

How do Barcodes for Coupons work?
Coupon Codes appear as lines (bars) of varying widths representing the series of numbers commonly shown below the bars.

Barcode scanners read the bars and convert them back to the value that they represent.

EPS Format - This layered, vector EPS file, generated in Adobe Illustrator, is the preferred format of most graphic designers due to its quality and versatility, particularly for resizing.
TIFF Format - This layered TIFF file, created in Adobe Photoshop, works well for graphic artists who prefer to work in Photoshop and need a transparent background. This format is not suitable for significant resizing.
JPEG Format - This uncompressed, high-quality JPEG file, created in Adobe Photoshop, is the most common file format. However, it is not suitable for significant resizing.

Can I purchase a Coupon Code without having a UPC code?

How much does a Coupon Code cost?
If you do not own a UPC code, you first need to purchase one for $89 per unique product.

If you already own a UPC code, then you only need to have the Coupon Code graphic created for $50 per code.

This price assumes that you select a single image format. You may select multiple formats at an additional charge.
